<p>Clan Baird traces its origins to medieval Lanarkshire, first documented in the 13th century when Richard Bard received lands from King Alexander III. The family established themselves as significant landholders in southwestern Scotland from their seat at Cambusnethan, and a separate branch went on to hold the lands of Auchmedden in Aberdeenshire, marrying into the powerful Keith family and supplying numerous sheriffs to the county. The Baird tartan itself is first recorded in Johnston’s work of 1906, when its stripes were rendered in red rather than the pink seen in today’s colourways.</p>
<p>This striking teal-and-pink colourway suits Highland games, weddings, and any occasion calling for a tartan with real presence.</p>
<p>Each kilt is made to measure from a quality wool blend, hand-pleated to the sett, with a flat front apron and the traditional leather straps and buckles at the waist.</p>
