The Clan Beattie Tartan Kilt carries a name of the Scottish Borders. The Beatties — also written Beattie and Beatty — were a riding family of Eskdale and Dumfriesshire, part of the hardy Border stock that held the debatable lands between Scotland and England. Theirs is a name with deep roots in the south of Scotland, and the tartan gives it a banner as bold as its history.

The sett is one of the brighter designs you will find: a ground of royal blue and green crossed by strong bands of red, and lifted with fine overchecks of purple, gold and white. It is a confident, colourful cloth that catches the light and stands out in a crowd, without ever losing the balance of a true tartan.

It suits weddings, gatherings and celebrations where you want the tartan to be seen. Wear it with an Argyll kilt jacket, add a leather sporran, and pick out one of the deeper tones with a set of kilt hose.

A Border name worth wearing, in a tartan that does not hide.
