<p>The Clan Buchanan Tartan Kilt is woven in vivid red, crossed with forest-green and gold windowpane checks — one of the brightest, most cheerful setts in the Highlands.</p>
<p>Clan Buchanan traces its roots to the early 13th century, when the clergyman Absalon of Buchanan received lands east of Loch Lomond from the Earls of Lennox around 1225. The Buchanans held those lands for nearly 600 years, until the death of the 22nd chief in 1682. The name is thought to derive from the Gaelic “Buth Chanain,” meaning “house of the canon,” and the clan’s battle cry, “Clarinch,” takes its name from a small island in Loch Lomond along whose shores the clan’s lands once clustered.</p>
<p>This vivid, high-contrast colourway suits Highland games, weddings, and any occasion calling for a tartan that draws the eye.</p>
<p>Each kilt is made to measure from a quality wool blend, hand-pleated to the sett, with a flat front apron and the traditional leather straps and buckles at the waist.</p>
