<p>Clan Colquhoun’s lands have sat on the shores of Loch Lomond since the reign of Alexander II, when Umphredus de Kilpatrick was granted the estates of Auchentorlie, Dumbuck, and Colquhoun by the Earl of Lennox. Around 1368, Sir Robert Colquhoun gained Luss through marriage, and Luss has served as the clan’s chiefship seat ever since. The Colquhoun tartan itself descends from the Wilsons of Bannockburn, added to the Cockburn collection in 1810 and formally recognised by the Highland Society of London around 1816, with the chief’s own signature and seal attached to the sample.</p>
<p>It’s a genuine clan tartan with a documented paper trail stretching back over two centuries, tied to one of the most scenic stretches of the Scottish Highlands.</p>
