Clan Gordon was one of the most powerful houses of the north-east, its chief known as the “Cock o’ the North” and seated at Huntly Castle in Aberdeenshire.
The sett takes a dark green and blue ground crossed with black, in the manner of the Black Watch, and adds a bright yellow overcheck. That yellow line is the mark of the Gordon tartan.
It suits weddings, clan gatherings, and Highland Games, and carries the name of the Gordons of Aberdeenshire. Wear it with an Argyll jacket and a semi-dress sporran, finished with a set of kilt hose.
Wear it for the occasion, or because the name is yours.
