The Morrisons came out of the Isle of Lewis, and their tartan carries the muted, weathered look of the Hebrides. This is the Ancient colouring, softened as though the cloth has already seen a few Atlantic winters.
The sett runs in deep sea-green and slate blue over black, with a single fine red line drawn across it. It is a quieter, more tonal tartan than the bright clan reds, closer in feel to the land and sea it comes from.
Clan Morrison were long tied to Lewis, where for generations they held the office of brieve, the hereditary judges who settled disputes under the old Gaelic law. Their traditional seat lay in the north of the island, and Morrisons today trace the name back to those island roots.
The muted palette makes it an easy tartan to wear, at weddings, Highland Games or any gathering where a Morrison wants to show the name. Pair it with a semi-dress sporran, draw the green through with a set of kilt hose, and finish the apron with a kilt pin.
Woven in tartan wool blend as a 5-yard kilt, or 8-yard for deeper pleating and heavier drape. Knife-pleated at the back with a flat front apron, fastened with leather straps and metal buckles. Made to your measurements, so send your waist and length and it is cut to fit.

Ewan Douglas –
The Clan Morrison Ancient Tartan Kilt is really good quality and comfortable, though I wish the delivery had been a bit quicker. Still, I’m very happy with it.
