<p>The Stirling family takes its name from the historic royal burgh of Stirling, with records stretching back to the 12th century, including Alexander de Strivelyn, who witnessed a charter of King David I between 1147 and 1150. This particular tartan, created in 1847 by Wilsons of Bannockburn, is a district design honouring both the town of Stirling and the nearby Battle of Bannockburn of 1314 — one of the most decisive victories in Scottish history. Stirling Castle itself stood at the centre of Scottish royal and military life for centuries, cementing the family’s place in the nation’s story.</p>
<p>This soft green-and-aqua colourway suits Highland games, weddings, and any occasion calling for a tartan steeped in Scottish history.</p>
