Every Wallace steps out in red, a scarlet ground crossed with black and fine gold lines that has stood for Scottish defiance since William Wallace’s day.

The sett runs on a red ground, with black checks and fine yellow/gold lines threaded through, built on the same red-and-black frame as the well-known Rob Roy pattern. It is one of the most widely recognised tartans in Scotland, bold enough to be seen from across a hall.

The Wallace name traces back to the Britons of the Kingdom of Strathclyde as early as the 12th century, but it was Sir William Wallace, leader of the Scottish resistance during the Wars of Independence, who gave the name its lasting place in Scottish memory. The clan’s tartan carries that legacy in every red and black check.

It suits Highland Games, weddings, Burns Night, or anyone with Wallace roots or a soft spot for Scotland’s national hero. Pair it with a Prince Charlie jacket, add a semi-dress sporran, and finish with a kilt pin.

Woven in tartan wool blend as a 5-yard kilt, or 8-yard for deeper pleating and heavier drape. Knife-pleated at the back with a flat front apron, fastened with leather straps and metal buckles. Made to your measurements, so send your waist and length and it is cut to fit.

Absolutely thrilled with my Clan Wallace Tartan Kilt. It holds beautifully during events, and the tartan colours are rich and vibrant.
