<p>The Drummond Ancient Tartan Kilt sets the Drummond sett on a warm red-orange ground, crossed with green windowpane checks and fine blue and white lines — the traditional “ancient” dye treatment for one of Perthshire’s great clans.</p>
<p>Clan Drummond takes its name from the lands of Drymen near Stirling, from the Gaelic “Dromainn,” meaning ridge. The clan’s earliest recorded chief, Malcolm Beg, Chamberlain of Lennox, appears in 13th-century records, and the Drummonds fought alongside Robert the Bruce at the Battle of Bannockburn, earning Perthshire lands as a reward for their loyalty. The clan’s historic seat, Drummond Castle near Crieff, remains linked to the family, with the earliest documented Drummond tartan sett appearing in a manuscript dated to around 1800, later worn during King George IV’s 1822 visit to Edinburgh.</p>

<p>Each kilt is made to measure from a premium wool blend, hand-pleated to the sett, with a flat front apron and the traditional leather straps and buckles at the waist.</p>
