Ralston Ancient Tartan Kilt

<p>The Ralston Ancient Tartan Kilt takes the same Ralston sett and softens it into muted green, khaki-tan, and dusty salmon-pink — the traditional “ancient” dye treatment that gives the pattern a time-worn, historic feel rather than the boldness of the modern colourway.</p>
<p>The Ralston name comes from the lands of Ralston, just east of Paisley in Renfrewshire, originally granted as “Ralphistoun” — Ralph’s settlement — to the younger son of the Earl of Fife in the early 12th century. The first recorded Ralston, William de Ralston, appears in historical documents from 1270, and by the 14th century the family had grown prominent enough that Sir William de Ralston was granted further lands and titles by King David II. Clan Ralston is recognised by the Court of the Lord Lyon, though it’s currently without a chief, making it an armigerous clan — anyone descended from Ralston lands may wear its tartans.</p>
<p>This softer, ancient colourway suits everyday Highland wear, semi-formal gatherings, and anyone who wants a Ralston tartan with a quieter, more traditional presence.</p>
<p>Each kilt is made to measure from a premium wool blend, hand-pleated to the sett, with a flat front apron and the traditional leather straps and buckles at the waist.</p>
